The World Bank released its flagship report on resilience investment, “Rising to the Challenge: Success Stories and Strategies for Achieving Climate Adaptation and Resilience” in October 2024. The report highlights the growing success of private sector investment in resilience, with 30 examples of private actions and 9 public-sector action or reforms that have a positive impact on resilience and can be replicated and scaled up.
In 2024 the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI), in partnership with The World Bank, released Building Sustainable Futures: Advancing Climate Resilience in South Asia, which delves into the critical challenges facing climate resilience across South Asia.

To further incentives for resilience in waterfront development, Waterfront Alliance has created Waterfront Edge Design Guidelines (WEDG), a national rating system and set of guidelines developed to create resilient, ecological, and accessible assets along the water’s edge. This case study demonstrates that once constructed and operational, designing beyond code for resilience offers a 4:1 benefit-cost ratio and 6:1 for resilience against storm surge on a continuous basis for the new, often improved useful life of the waterfront asset.
